Goodbye 2015, Hello Adventure…

Well, what a year it’s been! Susan and I arrived back in Australia around this time last year and I’m so proud (and slightly amazed!) with what we’ve achieved since then. Relocating to Sydney, finding jobs, finding somewhere to live, buying a car (actually, 2 cars…), buying most of the equipment that we’ll need for our travels next year and we have also done a lot of planning too! At the start of the year I never would have imagined that everything would have come together so well. Not to say that it’s been easy, there’s definitely been periods of stress in there too!

We’ve been quite busy the last couple of months. Susan had a trip to Adelaide to set up some of her images in a gallery there, I had a trip to Port Macquarie to see an old friend.  We both did a first aid course with St John Ambulance, we had a weekend camping in Cattai National Park, Priscilla had a trip back to Artarmon Autos to have her CV boots replaced and we’ve both had work Xmas parties too!

There’s no rest for the wicked though, with both of us heading to our respective homes for Xmas, Susan to Adelaide and myself to Perth. We’ll be back to spend New Year’s Eve in our flat in Sydney with some friends from the UK and hoping to get some nice views of the fireworks from our balcony!

We’ve also got a busy January planned. We’re excited to be heading to Stockton Beach for a 4wd day with Great Divide Tours, have tickets to the cricket to see Australia play India in a one day game at the SCG and there’s also the moonlight cinema on Australia Day! It will hopefully be a bit warmer and drier than my 2015 Australia Day in Sydney!

Time is really flying by now and I’m sure it will continue to do so. It’s just over 13 weeks until we head off for our big trip and it will be here before we know it. I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet, but I’m sure it will when the clocks tick over to 2016! It’s all about to get real!

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season with your friends and family and hope that 2016 is everything you want it to be. It’s certainly going to be a big year for us and we can’t wait!
